What We Do
Classroom Workshops
Skye Consulting develops and facilitates K-12 and adult education classroom workshops on topics including sustainability education, air quality, financial literacy, career development and many others. We bring the ideas of our clients alive in the classroom, while connecting each topic with the grade-specific curriculum requirements.
Fraser Valley Regional District
Clean air contributes to healthy people, productive crops, thriving ecosystems, and clear views. Working closely with the Fraser Valley Regional District, Skye Consulting developed air quality education programs for the region focusing on how transportation and energy choices can affect the air we breathe! Skye offers classroom workshops during the school year.
Green Bricks
For 20 years, Skye was part of the Green Bricks Education team, which involved youth in
sustainable land use and development through science-based, curriculum-linked outreach
programs. These programs were offered free of charge to various elementary and secondary
classrooms across our province.
City of North Vancouver
Working with the City of North Vancouver, Skye Consulting developed and presented in the elementary classrooms on topics around energy conservation, waste management and diversion and encourages youth to keep our streets beautiful. Teachers and students love the hands-on activities.

City of Surrey
For the City of Surrey, Skye developed and facilitated a suite of K-12 and adult English learners
(ELL) classrooms on topics of waste, energy and water conservation that affect our community.
These programs are highly interactive and curriculum-connected for each grade.
City of Delta
Working with elementary schools in Delta, Skye developed and delivers engaging workshops on water conservation and waste management. Connected to the curriculum, teachers and students love learning about these important topics in our community.
Metro Vancouver
For Metro Vancouver, Skye created an engaging, curriculum-connected watershed program facilitated by a watershed educator, who brings the watersheds to the classroom. A mix of thinking and movement-based activities will keep students engaged in a fun and memorable way as we explore where our drinking water comes from, water use, sustainability, and what makes watershed ecosystems important.
District of North Vancouver

The District of North Vancouver encompasses extensive forests, streamside riparian habitats, and coastal areas that provide a spectacular setting and a strong identity for District residents to nature. Through engaging and hands-on activities, Skye created a workshop to investigate how we need to foster and protect biodiversity in our community because with biodiversity loss, living things face challenges sensing, responding to, and adapting to environmental stimuli.
Cities of Abbotsford and Mission
For over 20 years, Skye under the Green Bricks organization has worked with Abbotsford and
Mission Water and Sewer Services to create science of water workshops for elementary and
secondary classrooms to explore local water sources, water conservation and the amazing water
cycle. Access to clean drinking water affects us all and Skye engages classrooms to understand
the importance of water in our lives and how we can manage water sustainably into the future.
City of Coquitlam
Skye, under the Green Bricks organization, created a suite of programs to share Coquitlam’s
municipal messaging around waste, energy and water conservation to elementary classrooms
in the schools. The energy program, for example, explores renewable and non-renewable
energy in engaging and hands-on ways to investigate that energy comes in a variety of forms.
Students learn the links between energy, greenhouse gases, and climate change. We have fun
building mini solar scooters that move with the power of the sun.
BC Hydro
BC Hydro’s Power Smart for Schools is an online hub of energy-focused activities and lessons for teachers looking for new ways to inspire their students. Skye Consulting has been a leading curriculum contributor to building the resources for this platform since 2018 working on topics around conservation, electrical safety and various educational campaigns.
Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA)
In partnership with VFPA, Skye Consulting is developing resources for students to explore how infrastructure improvements benefit many aspects of a community whilst safely exporting and importing goods. These online resources provide a framework for K-3 and 4-7 students to learn how VFPA’s sustainability framework, of incorporating the three pillars of sustainability: healthy environment, thriving communities and economic prosperity through trade, is shaping infrastructure in our region. The activities in these resources are designed to be interactive with hands-on activities and engage students in critical thinking and creativity in group work.
BC Lung Association
Skye Consulting worked with BC Lung Association to help create tool kits around vaping to assist teachers, counsellors, health care providers, and parents present important information and support about vaping and youth.
Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN)

The RDN's Drinking Water and Watershed Protection Program, Skye Consulting, Nanaimo and Area Land Trust, and Indigenous Learning Coordinators collaborated to create a regional resource focusing on drinking water and watershed protection for grades K-3 and 4-7. The message of what we all can do to protect the water is shared with students through interactive and engaging activities including games, crafts, STEM experiments and multimedia. The modules combine Indigenous stories and knowledge, local references, science, culture and hands-on activities to reinforce learning.
